We take the worry out of planning your Wedding
Bachelor and Bachelorette Parties

Tips & Advice
from our professionals:
=============
Where do I start?

Hiring Your Vendors

The Ceremony

The Reception

After the Big Day

Skip the Strippers and Start a New Tradition

You're getting married. Like most couples, your friends are planning a bachelor or bachelorette party for you in Buffalo and Western New York. This can either be an exciting occasion or devastating for your relationship. Recently, a segment on The Oprah Winfrey Show centered on a couple who had been married for five years, yet a video of the husband's bachelor party featuring strippers and bad behavior torments the wife years later. This type of event has become typical of bachelor parties and considered a "right of passage" into married life. This particular party was not meant to harm anyone, but obviously, none of the participants thought the wife-to-be would find out about their escapades. Strippers and naked women (or men) may sound like fun to you, but at what risk to your future? Would you know where to draw the line? What is fun and when does fun become inappropriate behavior for a person engaged to be married? The obvious answer: if you are not able to tell your future spouse what you are doing for the party, you should rethink your plan.

With that in mind, the question becomes how do you have a 'last fling' party that is fun and memorable, but respectful of the other partner's feelings in Buffalo and Western New York? It is possible. Couples have become creative in celebrating this event without compromising their relationship. Here are some great ideas to keep you out of the doghouse with your future spouse AND your best friends wanting to celebrate this occasion with you.

Joint ventures. Have a joint bachelor/bachelorette party in Buffalo and Western New York. Send two different invitations, one for the men, and one for the women. Do a theme party (think 70s, Twister, Brady Bunch clothes, fondue, etc.), or an interactive event like a scavenger hunt. It's a fun way to get the entire wedding party together to relieve stress and celebrate the big event to come.

A weekend's worth of fun is right in our back yard - bring a group for great food, drink and fun at:

Play dress up. Another fun idea for a joint b&b event is to have the guys dress up in old bridesmaid gowns and the girls in tuxedos and stage a mock wedding with tacky (but fun) food.

Bar or pub crawl. Have a t-shirt made for the bride with a checklist of funny things that all of those attending have to do throughout the night. A fun guide is to use the alphabet and think of an event for each letter. It can be a task, a shot, or a dare.

Pack up and go. A weekend trip is a fun getaway - perhaps Toronto or Las Vegas. Before plans begin, make sure that everyone can afford to participate so there are no hurt feelings. If you have friends that can afford it, a weekend get-away is a great way to celebrate your last single days. If you're budget minded, select a city within driving distance and keep the activities within reason.
Golf (or spa) anyone? Try a golf weekend for the guys or a slumber party/spa weekend for the girls. These parties don't have to be done together or even in the same city, but they could. Arrive around lunch on Saturday. After lunch, spend the day in the spa (or on the golf course). The girls can select the services they want (and can afford). Arrange dinner at a fun, hip restaurant and wind up in the V.I.P. room of the hottest club in the area. Dance all night. Have breakfast in bed the next morning, then pack up and head home.
Your last fling can be a blast even without strippers - otherwise, you may be the next couple talking to Oprah about your problems!
